Cold War Bunker Tour
with Jersey Heritage

A one-hour guided tour of a wartime German bunker preserved as a Cold War fallout monitoring centre, led by a guide who trained there.
A rare opportunity to tour Lé Bunkèr d’la Fraide Dgèrre, a Second World War German communications bunker transformed into a Cold War nuclear fallout communications centre.
The 1 hour tour takes visitors around this unique "frozen in time" bunker. It is led by a local guide who trained as part of the team of locals set up to monitor the arrival or potential arrival of radioactive fallout.
Visitors see the control centre and communications hub, where the team would work together to plot data on situation boards. The tour also takes in the technology of the time used in the meteorological room, the radio room where public safety information would have been broadcast to islanders, and the living quarters where the team would eat and sleep in the event of any potential nuclear emergency.
Tickets cost £16 plus the Eventbrite booking fee.
