Intertidal Walk to la Sambue Sandbank
with Intertidal Walks

A guided low-tide walk across the rocky intertidal zone to a remote sandbank and lagoon south east of Green Island, reachable only a few hours a year
Accessible for only a few hours at the lowest tides of the year, this is a wild place that somehow feels further offshore than it is. The walk heads out into the rocky intertidal zone and onto the sandbank of La Sambue, with the chance to discover some of the creatures that have adapted to life in this harsh environment, and to tick off one of the island's notable local walks.
This guided walk is not suitable for children. A good level of fitness and the ability to keep up a good walking pace over several hours are required. Situated to the south east of Green Island, the massive rocks of the Sambue stand above all other geological formations in the area. The walk takes participants out onto the large sandbanks to the east of these rocks, which form a lagoon at low tide.
No dogs are permitted. Wellies are recommended, especially during the cooler months. Wellies and waterproofs are available, and these must be reserved during the booking process. More information about the walk and booking is available online.
