The Merchants House, St. Helier, JE2 3NB

Blue ceramic fish swimming over white painted driftwood

Jane James Ceramics creates unique coastal themed pottery that captures the charm and character of the sea. Her ceramic fish, birds and beach huts are skilfully hand crafted and mounted on driftwood collected from local beaches. Each piece of work is unique and conveys Jane’s colourful and happy style.

Jane James is an award winning ceramic artist who has become the largest pottery producer in the Channel Islands. Working from her studio overlooking English Harbour, Jane and her team of artists hand cut, press mould or slip cast the ceramics from earthenware clay. Once fired these are then mounted on driftwood collected from the beaches around Jersey to create unique pieces of coastal artwork.

You can watch Jane and her team make their ceramics and see a large range of her ceramics and other local arts and crafts in her gift shop.

Jane now exports her ceramics all over the world. She was commissioned to make a large wall shoal for the National Aquarium in Denmark.

Jane also has a gift shop in Gorey Harbour and an online shop.
