Promoting Independence and Safety in the Home - Technology Options for People with Dementia
at Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel by Dementia Jersey
An evening talk and demonstration of Telecare alarms and sensors helping people with dementia live safely at home, for carers and supporters
In aid of Dementia Jersey.
Using technology can help reassure families that a person with dementia is safe and secure at home, and that alerts will be raised if not.
Dementia Jersey welcomes Daniel Pena from Digital Telecare to this speaker evening.
Telecare is an emergency alarm and remote monitoring system that helps people live safely and independently at home. Daniel will have Telecare equipment available to look at during the session. He will explain the benefits, demonstrate the options and answer questions about the service.
The service uses: alarm pendants worn on the body that allow the wearer to speak directly to a Care Navigator; sensors, including fall detection, smart plugs, seizure monitors and environmental devices; GPS location tracking; and other aids for people who are visually or hearing impaired. Telecare customises packages based on specific needs. No understanding of technology is required to benefit from it. Dementia Jersey's Dementia Advisors will also be on hand for anyone who wants to talk through any topics or concerns.
The event is open to anyone who is supporting or caring for a person with dementia.
