Playmobil Battle of Hastings

Hundreds of Playmobil figures recreate 1066 in a seven-metre model at Mont Orgueil Castle, a family-friendly way into Norman history and Jersey's part in it.
Playmobil figures are not only for children to play with at home. This display tells the events of 1066 in miniature form, as part of MILLENIUM – 2027 European Year of the Normans.
To celebrate MILLENIUM – 2027 European Year of the Normans, the Tudor Hall at Mont Orgueil Castle is filled with tiny toy soldiers and horses recreating the famous Battle of Hastings. Designed by Jean-Paul Turquois, a Playmobil enthusiast, the model measures seven metres by three metres, and it takes him three days to place the hundreds of figures.
It offers families a fun way to engage with this complex history and Jersey's place in the story. The display is supported by the Government of Jersey and Creative Island Partnership.
